Studying Formability Limits By Combining Conventional and Incremental Sheet Forming Process

Abstract In this work it is assessed the potential of combining conventional and incremental sheet forming processes in a same metal. This so-called hybrid approach performed through manufacture pre-forming by forming, followed forming. The main objective analyzing strain evolution. induced stage will determine paths, directly influencing strains produced process. To conduct study, processes, were imposed three different ways with distinct true strains. At stage, pyramid strategy was adopted wall slopes. From experiments, final geometries analyzed. Numerical simulation also employed for sake comparison correlation measured data. It could be observed that single-stretch pre-strain proportional to maximum achieved, whereas samples subjected biaxial influenced formability according degree applied. Pre-strain driven prior deep-drawing operation did not result, particular geometry, increased formability.
